Ready to start with
Southern Cross Swimming Club?
SCSC always welcome new swimmers to our club. New members can register at any time via Swim Central. It is encouraged, although not essential, that swimmers are participating in squad or Learn to Swim at the SCSC pool with Ripple Swim. Members may train at any pool that has no club or can just take part in Club Nights without doing any training at all.
Southern Cross Swimming Club is a Swimming Queensland (SQ) Affiliated Club. All club swimmers must be registered with SQ. All registrations must be done through Swimming Australia’s Swim Central online registration system.
Recreational Membership
All ages
- This is a new option for Southern Cross swimmers that was introduced last year.
- For recreational swimmers, wishing to compete in Club Nights and Club based events but no interclub, state or national meets. Can be upgraded at any time.
- Covered by Swim Australia (SAL) sponsored JLT personal accident insurance at any Affiliated Club, Brisbane Swimming, SQ, Swim Australia Meet or event.
- Are eligible to take part in SCSC Club Nights, Championships and other Club events.
- Are eligible for Swim Aust/SQ Member Participation Programs
- This is a great option for our younger swimmers who are just developing their competitive skills.
- Club Nights will give them the perfect opportunity to improve their racing skills in a relaxed and fun environment where they are surrounded by friends and family.
- If at any time during the season you would like to upgrade your membership to a Competitive Membership (to include outside meets) you can and will only be out-of-pocket the difference.
Competitive Membership
8 years old & under
- Fully registered swimmer
- For competitive swimmers 8 years and under who wish to compete in interclub, state or national meets.
- The registration category applicable is that of the age of the swimmer on the day of registration, regardless of when the swimmer ages up.
- The fees are slightly cheaper due to some outside meets having age restrictions on their events list
- Covered by Swim Australia (SAL) sponsored JLT personal accident insurance at any Affiliated Club, Brisbane Swimming, SQ, Swim Australia Meet or event.
- Have access to all levels of competition including Club, Regional, State and National meets, with the ability to compete interstate and internationally through clearances.
- Are eligible to take part in SCSC Club Nights, Championships and other Club events.
- Are eligible for Swim Aust/SQ Member Participation Programs
Competitive Membership
9 years old & over
- Fully registered swimmer
- For competitive swimmers 9 years and over who wish to compete in interclub, state or national meets.
- The registration category applicable is that of the age of the swimmer on the day of registration, regardless of when the swimmer ages up.

Membership costs include SCSC membership, Brisbane Swimming, Swimming Queensland, and Swimming Australia affiliation fees, insurance, and GST. Please ensure you are familiar with the SCSC Membership Terms & Conditions.
